EBC and #TheRegenerationGeneration: Empowering Communities and Driving Sustainability
At EBC Financial Group (EBC), success is not just about financial growth but about the lives we impact, the communities we uplift and the futures we help shape. This belief drives our partnership with the Shakti Regeneration Institute (SRI), a collaboration dedicated to empowering marginalised communities, preserving Indigenous knowledge and advancing sustainability.
Changing Lives Through Education in India
In West Bengal, the Ramakrishna Vedanta Vidyapith school has been transforming lives for over 25 years, providing education to children and women from disadvantaged backgrounds and opening doors to brighter futures.
Through our partnership with SRI, we directly support 50 students with educational materials, uniforms and vocational training in sewing.
David Barrett, CEO of EBC Financial Group (UK) Ltd, explains, "At EBC, we recognise that the true power of education creates the foundation for transforming societies and creating pathways to lasting change. Our partnership with Shakti Regeneration Institute is more than a sponsorship—it reflects our dedication to uplifting the next generation, as we support the Ramakrishna Vedanta Vidyapith school in equipping marginalised children with the tools they need to thrive."
Amplifying Indigenous Voices Through Film
EBC is proud to support #TheRegenerationGeneration, a documentary directed by Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri that is driving crucial conversations on sustainability, ecosystem preservation and Indigenous heritage. Our involvement ensures that these perspectives—often overlooked in financial and corporate discussions—are part of the global dialogue.
Indrani is an award-winning filmmaker, activist and artist whose work bridges social impact and visual storytelling. She first gained international recognition as a photographer and director, collaborating with cultural icons such as David Bowie, Beyoncé and Deepak Chopra. Her projects have earned her accolades at the United Nations and UNESCO, where she has worked to elevate Indigenous and marginalised voices on a global stage.
#TheRegenerationGeneration highlights the pressing need for regenerative finance and education, featuring contributions from Nobel Prize winners, innovators, business leaders, educators and Indigenous leaders. The film sheds light on the challenges facing Indigenous communities, particularly in the Amazon, where environmental degradation threatens both their cultural heritage and the planet’s biodiversity.
Ajay Pal-Chaudhuri, Chairman and Founder of Shakti Regeneration Institute, shared, "We are thrilled to announce our partnership with EBC Financial Group, a collaboration that embodies the convergence of corporate responsibility and global impact. Together, we embark on a transformative journey, combining our strengths in education and ecological advocacy to empower communities worldwide. With EBC's support, we are not only empowering marginalised children through education but also raising global awareness about the critical challenges facing Indigenous communities and the plight of vulnerable ecosystems."
Indrani’s work extends beyond filmmaking, with her advocacy for Indigenous rights and environmental sustainability influencing policy discussions worldwide. Our support for this initiative aligns with our belief that knowledge should drive real-world solutions.
Fostering Global Conversations on Sustainability with Oxford University’s Department of Economics
EBC’s commitment to education goes beyond the classroom. Through our collaboration with the University of Oxford, we have sponsored episodes of What Economists Really Do, covering essential topics such as macroeconomics and climate. These discussions bridge academic research with real-world applications, equipping individuals with the knowledge to make informed decisions for a more sustainable future.
"Through our involvement in the #TheRegenerationGeneration 2025 documentary, we are amplifying the voices of Indigenous communities and supporting the preservation of their cultural and environmental heritage," explains Barrett. "Similarly, our collaboration with the University of Oxford's Department of Economics on their WERD programme underscores our dedication to enhancing global understanding of critical economic and societal issues. By investing in education at every level, we aim to create opportunities, promote equity and address the challenges of our time. These efforts align seamlessly with our core values of integrity, responsibility and sustainability."
Shaping a Better Tomorrow
From supporting education in West Bengal to bringing Indigenous sustainability strategies into mainstream finance discussions, EBC Financial Group is committed to using finance as a tool for meaningful change.
This is not just a corporate initiative—it is a fundamental part of our approach to financial leadership. Real impact does not come from broad promises but from strategic action, and that is exactly what we are committed to delivering.
